What it develops
- Improve stroke efficiency on all strokes
- Keep technique and stroke count as distance increases
How to run it
- Swimmer swims a width while a partner watches with a checklist.
- Together they pick the main fault (e.g. 'head lifts to breathe').
- Swimmer chooses a matching drill from the menu board and practises it for three widths.
- Swim the full stroke again – has it improved?
Teaching cues
- Find one fault.
- Pick a drill.
- Test it again.
Make it easier
- Teacher suggests the drill.
- Menu with three drills only.
Make it harder
- Two faults, two drills.
- Swimmer explains why the drill works.
Common faults
- Choosing a drill that doesn't match the fault.
- Working on too many things at once.
Corrections
- Menu board links each fault to drills.
- One fault only.
Assistant / L1 role
- Help one pair match the fault to the right drill on the menu board.
