What it develops
- Swim continuously with controlled pace
- Keep technique and stroke count as distance increases
How to run it
- Swimmers swim continuously for several lengths at an easy pace.
- At each wall, the teacher or assistant gives one technique check (thumbs up or a cue).
- Swimmers adjust on the next length without stopping.
- Finish with Easy Choice Swim.
Teaching cues
- Easy, long strokes.
- Listen at the wall.
- Fix it on the next length.
Make it easier
- Shorter swim.
- Stop at each wall for the check.
Make it harder
- Longer swim.
- Hold stroke count as well.
Common faults
- Technique fading after the first lengths.
- Speeding up.
Corrections
- Cue one point at a time.
- Slow the pace.
Assistant / L1 role
- Stand at the far wall and give each swimmer a single cue as they turn.
