What it develops
- Build continuous swimming distance
- Swim continuously at a steady pace
- Swim further with pace awareness
- Swim continuously with controlled pace
How to run it
- Each swimmer has a card with distances (e.g. 25 m, 50 m, 100 m).
- Choose a stroke and a technique focus.
- Swim continuously; the teacher 'stamps' the card only if the focus held throughout.
- Next time, aim for the next stamp.
Teaching cues
- Steady pace.
- Keep your focus.
- Earn the stamp.
Make it easier
- Shorter stamps.
- Rest float allowed (Swim, Stop, Float).
Make it harder
- Longer distances.
- Two strokes in one swim.
Common faults
- Racing the first length.
- Technique fading at the end.
Corrections
- Choose an easy pace you can talk at.
- Stop and restart rather than swim badly.
Assistant / L1 role
- Keep the passport cards and stamp them; watch the technique focus for the last length.
