Safety notes
- Deep-water squares only for swimmers cleared for deep water.
What it develops
- Build continuous swimming distance
- Swim continuously at a steady pace
How to run it
- Give each swimmer (or pair) a bingo card: 'width of backstroke', '5 breaststroke kicks', 'tread 10 secs'.
- Swimmers choose squares and perform them.
- The teacher initials a square only if it's done well.
- First to complete a row shouts 'Bingo!'

Make it easier
- Easier squares; floats allowed.
- Work in pairs.
Make it harder
- Full card.
- Harder squares like 'tumble turn'.
Common faults
- Rushing squares.
- Crowding the teacher.
Corrections
- Only initial well-done squares.
- Assistant helps sign cards.
Assistant / L1 role
- Sign squares for half the group and watch the quality of each skill.
